Schedule and Route in Kanagawa Prefecture

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay schedule in Kanagawa Prefecture
Monday, June 29 – Wednesday, July 1, 2020

The Torch Relay in Kanagawa Prefecture will begin in Hakone Town, and celebrations will be held in Fujisawa City on Day 1, Sagamihara City on Day 2, and Yokohama City on Day 3. The highlights of the relay will be Mt. Oyama of Isehara City, which has been registered as a Japan Heritage Site and is also popular with hikers, Enoshima, which is the Host venue of sailing, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, a shrine located in the center of the ancient city of Kamakura, among others. In Yokohama City, torchbearers will run past International Stadium Yokohama and Yokohama Stadium, where the football, baseball and softball competition will be held, and they will run through other areas of town that symbolize Yokohama, a city that is celebrating its 160th anniversary since opening its port to foreign ships.

To apply for torchbearers

Application period: Monday, July 1 – 11:59 P.M., Saturday, August 31, 2019

Application forms can be obtained at your local city hall, town hall.

Selection is not on a first-come-first-served basis
Make preparations before applying!!

Filling out the application form will take around 30 minutes to an hour. Applicants are advised to make preparations in advance according to the following procedures.
